From My Garage Workbench to Your Porch & Home.

If you walk up my driveway in Spokane Valley on a Saturday morning, you’ll usually hear the hum of the planer, smell fresh sawdust, or catch the smoke of a propane torch charring local pine.

I build cedar garden planters, indoor furniture, and hidden concealment pieces one board at a time, meant to become a permanent part of your family's daily rhythm.

How & Why I Build

Wood, Fire, and Pieces That Earn Their Keep

I love working with wood because every board has a history before it ever reaches my saws and gets a second life once it enters your home. Here are the three main ways my shop serves local families:

Shou Sugi Ban charred display risers
The Charring Method • Yakisugi / Shou Sugi Ban

Bringing Out the Grain With Open Flame

One of my favorite moments in any build happens out on the driveway with a weed-burner torch. Practicing traditional Japanese Shou Sugi Ban, I char the surface of local pine until the soft earlywood burns away, brush it down to reveal the raised rings, and seal it with polyurethane. Whether it’s a mudroom bench where your kids kick off their boots or a display shelf in the living room, no two boards ever take the fire the same way.

Homegrown Food & Flowers

Western Red Cedar for Porch & Yard Gardens

As a gardener and herbalist myself, there is nothing quite like stepping outside your door to clip fresh herbs, greens, or tomatoes from your own planter. I build my deep beds, elevated planters, and wishing wells from thick Pacific Northwest Western Red Cedar so you can grow clean food right on your patio for years to come.

Quiet Readiness

Handcrafted Concealment Shelving

Keeping your household protected shouldn't mean sacrificing the warmth of your home. My floating mantles and shelves are built like classic wood furniture on the outside, while housing a smooth, lockable drop-down compartment inside, keeping peace of mind quietly within reach.

Where These Builds Live Now

The best part of running a local shop is meeting the people who load these pieces into the back of their trucks and SUVs (and occasionally the back seat of a sedan) and take them home.

A Saturday Turnaround Story
“Greg is amazing! When I contacted him on Saturday inquiring about the planter boxes, he unfortunately had sold the last one. He then said he could make me some new ones. Less than 24 hours later, they were done. They are beautiful. He is so easy to work with, and his work is beautiful! I would definitely recommend him to everybody I know.”

“Definitely a 5 star review here. Communication was immediate and easy. He had my planter ready and carried it to my car and placed it inside. He showed me his other planters he made which I purchased two more. I was so pleased with what I got that I'm going to have him make me another soon. Very Happy with Everything!”
